The Alu Bar Stool is designed by Muller Van Severen in collaboration with the architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). The stool originated from their joint design of the lounge bar at BIG’s headquarters. Its angular, geometric form reflects the distinctive design language of the Alu Chair, combining structural clarity with a bold use of colour.

Constructed from a lightweight uncoated aluminium frame, and finished with a UV-protected colour lacquer on the aluminium seat. The Alu Bar Stool is built to withstand outdoor conditions and retain its vibrancy and appearance over time. Featuring a flat seat and sturdy base structure, the stool provides support and stability. The integrated footrest offers comfort, making it ideal for extended use.

Available in three different heights, the stool is a versatile piece suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. The lowest version can be used as a side table or low stool, while the 65 cm and 75 cm versions are perfect for counter and bar use. Muller Van Severen’s signature colour hues bring a playful yet sophisticated presence, enhancing the stool's sculptural appeal.

    Muller Van Severen

    This product is designed by
    Muller Van Severen

Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. The couple have always been on an inspired quest for sculpturally interesting furniture objects, and their work sits somewhere between design and art, drawing on their passion for architecture and materials. They have won countless awards and collaborated with prestigious international museums and galleries.

A shared love of colour and materials is often the inspiration behind many of Muller Van Severen’s designs. The designer duo is constantly seeking new ways to present the natural beauty of the materials they use, striving to give the materials their own distinct presence.
