The Backenzahn Side Table Black Oak edition is designed to celebrate 25 years of Philipp Mainzer's Backenzahn. Crafted from matte black oak, the surface is treated with a special method that brings out the wood’s natural character. The deep black colour is created through a tannic acid reaction, often referred to as ‘tannin black’, triggered by a carefully composed blend of natural ingredients. This process not only highlights the oak's natural qualities but also reflects e15’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship.

The legs taper downward with two deliberate incisions. The gaps between the legs suggest that all four parts are still clearly recognisable. Thanks to its flat surface, it works well as a side table or extra seat for guests. The Backenzahn is also available with a slightly concave seat to be used as a comfortable stool.

Due to the natural properties of oak wood and its varying levels of inherent acid, the colouring of each Backenzahn Black Edition is unique and can vary. Each piece is stamped underneath the base with an anniversary edition imprint.
