Designed by the well-known Swedish ceramicist Lisa Larson in 1967, 'Birds' draws inspiration from Mexican folklore and the ethos of flower power, embodying a belief in peace and understanding. The late '60s in the US were marked by anti-war protests and a blossoming hippie culture, a time when vibrant music erupted, and a young generation conquered the stage. In this vividly inspired period, Lisa Larson's coloured flock of birds came to life.

Larson’s birds symbolise peace doves, reminiscent of a time when the younger generation protested against war and envisioned a new society. Their vibrant colours, accompanied by music, serve as a celebration of life, empowering the soul with their intricate patterns. Once confined, this richly decorated bird flock now soars freely, a testament to hope and happiness.

Since 1967, a treasure has been nesting at Lisa Larson’s studio outside of Stockholm. Born in the vividly vibrant '60s, an era defined by the eruption of vibrant music and the triumph of the Flower Power generation, her coloured flock of birds embodies the spirit of their time, continuing to fly free today.
