Belgian artist duo Muller Van Severen created the Ceiling Lamp series in 2011 for their first solo exhibition at the Valerie Traan gallery. The lamp’s playful and simple form looks like a drawing in the air, reflecting the designers’ intuitive and imaginative approach.

Consisting of a single bent rod with two brackets and a white ceiling cap, the cable runs discreetly inside the rod, keeping the design clean and uncluttered. The angled tube adds a sculptural detail to the ceiling and creates a strong visual presence in the space. The lamp can be easily mounted in the desired spot using its 2-metre cable. It features a classic cone-shaped white glass shade paired with a half-mirrored bulb (included), providing a softly diffused glow.

Made from either black powder-coated steel or untreated brass tube, the lamp offers a colourful finish that adds character, or a raw finish that ages beautifully over time, developing a subtle patina. The lamp features a slender, minimalist design with a gentle downward tilt that directs light effectively, perfect for use in dining rooms or living spaces. Its geometric shape offers a striking appearance while emitting a clear, precise illumination.

    This product is designed by
    Muller Van Severen

Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. The couple have always been on an inspired quest for sculpturally interesting furniture objects, and their work sits somewhere between design and art, drawing on their passion for architecture and materials. They have won countless awards and collaborated with prestigious international museums and galleries.

A shared love of colour and materials is often the inspiration behind many of Muller Van Severen’s designs. The designer duo is constantly seeking new ways to present the natural beauty of the materials they use, striving to give the materials their own distinct presence.
