Designed by Julien Renault, the Compass Floor Lamp is a freestanding lamp with a distinct sculptural form, providing pendant-like illumination through its innovative construction.
Constructed with a spun aluminium shade in a brushed finish and an injection-moulded bulb holder bracket, the lamp is designed to accommodate a replaceable E27 dimmable LED bulb. The white interior of the shade helps reflect the light, creating a soft, even illumination below. Bent and welded steel tube arms form a long, sweeping curve, extending the light outwards without the need for ceiling installation. While the upright height remains fixed, the arm can be extended across three adjustable positions, with a tiltable lamp head helping to keep the shade level as the arm is repositioned. The extruded aluminium base features an integrated bearing for 360-degree rotation, allowing the lamp to be easily adjusted and the light directed where needed.
The adjustable arm creates an elegant arched silhouette and adds flexibility to the design. Its generous scale gives the lamp a distinctive presence across a range of residential and public settings.
