Designed by Danish designer and architect Leif Jørgensen, the Connect Bed takes the idea of traditional craftsmanship methods combined with computer-controlled, high-tech tools and processes which have now become commonplace in the contemporary designer's world, to create a minimalistic industrial bed frame. The result is a design with pinpoint precision and an easy-to-assemble construction.
Embedded in the bare frame, the screws become an interesting detail with the joints displaying references to conventional carpentry work. The clever construction allows for simple and quick self-assembly and a lower environmental impact through efficient shipping. Comprised of a thick 4mm powder-coated steel frame and birch plywood slats, the Connect Bed offers a complete sleeping solution packed into two boxes. The Connect's uncluttered aesthetics and modest expression make it easy to integrate in most bedroom styles and decor.
