HAY's Copenhague Desk (CPH 90) is a simple, compact, and practical desk solution with the ideal amount of room for working. The cantilevered design with a generous overhang, allows your legs complete freedom underneath, whilst a wide variety of leg and base options means the desk can fit into nearly all interior designs. The desk is paired with either a matching finish veneer, laminate or super-matt linoleum top. Linoleum is our recommendation as it provides an easy-to-clean surface that withstands all sorts of marks and stains with ease.

Copenhague is a furniture series designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, especially for the University of Copenhagen in 2013. In addition to a homely and welcoming expression, functionality, durability and ease of cleaning were important design requirements for the university. The Bouroullec brothers approached the task by merging design history with modern technology in an idiom with a strong and independent appearance in a broad and versatile series that embraces both public and private environments.

Materials/Construction

Hay furniture is now treated with an eco-friendly water based lacquer, it replaces the options of ‘Matt Lacquer’ and Clear Lacquer’. Visually the ‘Water-Based Lacquer' treatment appears somewhere between the two previous lacquers; slightly more glossy than the matt finish, but not as glossy or warm in tone as the clear lacquer. Where the new treatment is used it will also always be applied to FSC certified wood sourced from sustainable forests. Together the material fulfils the EU Ecolabel requirements.

    Really Well done!

There was a delay to my order due to no fault of Really Well Made, was contacted and offered a refund but waited. Normally you have to chase up delays so nice to see a bit of proactive customer service. Will certainly use you again.

There are few, if any, designers as well renowned and respected as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec - often known simply as the Bouroullec Brothers. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.
