The Hven Bar Stool combines traditional woodworking skills with modern materials and minimal Scandinavian styling. A solid oak frame and stainless steel footrest are paired with a moulded plywood seat and back to create a stool with comfort and poise. Subtle carpentry details like soft rounded edges, tapers and steam-bent sections add both weight and lightness to Hven in a well-balanced composition.
Match the stools with the Hven armchair, dining table and bench to complete the collection. For extra comfort it can also be paired with a leather seat pad, made from Aniline Dunes leather which is characterised by its natural look and velvety feel.
The Hven series is all about connecting: Connecting Sweden and Denmark with the small island of Hven in between. Connecting Swedish designer Anton Björsing and the Danish design company Skagerak. Connecting families, friends and people around the dining table.
In Öresund, a narrow strait separating Denmark and Sweden, the island of Hven shoots up from the sea with its beautiful shores, wonderful nature and rich history of culture and scientific achievements. Hven once belonged to the Kingdom of Denmark, but it became Swedish soil more than 350 years ago. Today, ferry connections from both sides of the strait connect the two Nordic countries through the island, which has become a hub for art, culture and recreation. Hven is designed by the talented Anton Björsing who grew up in Landskrona with a direct view towards the little island in Öresund.
