Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the HAY Palissade Park Dining Bench Add-On extends the Palissade Park Dining Bench Starter Set, making it easy to create larger, customised seating arrangements. Available in inward-facing and outward-facing versions, it connects seamlessly to the starter set. Its gently curved frame enables flexible configurations, allowing seating layouts such as circles, waves, and arcs to be created for public spaces and landscape settings.
Visually light yet reassuringly robust, it combines archetypal furniture references with a restrained, timeless design to create a contemporary outdoor bench that feels instantly familiar. Each individual piece has been carefully engineered to hold the body in perfect balance. There are almost imperceptible, but significant changes to the angles, curves and the juxtaposition between the frame and slats in each different typology.
Built to withstand everyday outdoor use, the Palissade Park Dining Bench is designed to age gracefully over time. There are few, if any, designers as well renowned and respected as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec - often known simply as the Bouroullec Brothers. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.
The design duo started their practice as joint partners in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for offering a new perspective on materiality and purpose.
