This item has been discontinued by HAY. The legs are new, but the tabletop has been used for eight weeks and features a small 2cm mark on the surface. 'Discontinued' items are not eligible for returns or refunds.

Designed by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for HAY, the Passerelle Collection is inspired by the uncluttered aesthetics and utility of classic Shaker furniture. Based on the same values of quality and simplicity, the series has been created in a more contemporary context to suit modern lifestyle requirements.

The Passerelle Table has been constructed making use of modern joinery techniques to create a product which is both long-lasting and practical. The table core is made from Lisocore - an advanced high-quality material that offers great strength whilst being light and easy to move around. Onto the Lisocore a solid wood edging ensures that any knocks the table might receive during its lifetime, will be purely superficial and fixable. The tabletop surface is either a laminate or linoleum finish; both offer a hard wearing surface suitable for the rigours of everyday life. The table frame is equally robust and functional with solid wooden legs and an aluminium and steel crossbar that strengthens and stabilises the table.

The table is supplied completely flat-packed in robust packaging, which makes the table a great choice for those with difficult home access or a propensity to move frequently.

Thanks to the minimal design and strong construction, the Passerelle Table can be used as everything from a studio work desk to a dining table. The Passerelle Table (Laminate and Linoleum Tabletop) is available with a Wood Tabletop and also comes as a dedicated Desk and High Table.

    Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.

The design duo started their practice as joint partners in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for offering a new perspective on materiality and purpose. Since then they have worked with some of the world’s most illustrious design brands, creating products which are already considered to be future classics.
