Pierre Charpin’s PC Table Lamp is a collection of refined freestanding tabletop lamps for HAY. The lamps are constructed in anodised aluminium, which makes the surface more resistant to corrosion. The light source is hidden from view by a removable polycarbonate moulded diffuser, creating both a soft directional downlight effect and determining the form of the lamp itself.

PC Table Lamp comes in two sizes of the same relative proportions, which look great paired together - They almost appear like a collective of mushrooms that grow to their size organically.

The lamp has cleverly done away with all switches either on the cord or on the lamp itself. By touching the base the current is interrupted, triggering the 4-stage switch. With each touch the light will circle through 4 modes: off - low brightness - medium brightness - maximum brightness. The lamp requires a dimmable E27 bulb to work with this system (sold separately), we recommend the Tala Globe Bulb.

Pierre Charpin on the design: “I often talk about the sensuality in design. I wanted this lamp to be more sensual than technical, to make the object less demonstrative and more user-friendly. As HAY was developing its first lighting collection, we worked on the PC lamp project with the common desire to propose a sophisticated and affordable product. HAY offers design that fits in the home as well as in the workplace, and as a designer I want to design objects that can easily span the border between home, office, public space, outdoor and indoor. The PC Lamp is a nice example of this limitless design vision".

Well made, looks great. 3 stage dimming by touching the body of the lamp. Quite a modern look in reality.
