1952年にアルネ・ヤコブセンによってデザインされたアリンコチェア（アントチェア）は、一枚の成形合板を複雑に曲げ加工して作られた、デンマーク初のシェルチェアです。元々はフレデリクスベアにあるテラピューティスク・ラボラトリウム（現ノボ ノルディスク）の社員食堂のために考案されたこの椅子は、デンマークにおける積層合板家具の新しいアプローチを切り拓きました。軽量でありながら驚くほど頑丈なその独特な細身のシルエットは、頭を持ち上げた蟻の姿を彷彿とさせます。当初は3本脚で生産されていましたが、後に安定性を高めるために4本脚のバージョンも登場しました。
9層の加圧成形ベニヤで作られたシェルは、ナチュラルウッド、ラッカー塗装、カラードアッシュの3種類からお選びいただけます。シェルは7層の芯材と、その前後を挟む2層の表材で構成されています。芯材には常にビーチ材が使用され、表材にはさまざまな種類の天然木が用意されています。カラードアッシュは木目が透けて見える仕上げ、ラッカー仕上げは木目が見えない鮮やかな発色が特徴です。
脚部は直径14mmのスチールチューブで構成され、クローム仕上げまたは粉体塗装仕上げから選べます。脚部とシェルは黒のスペーサーで接続されており、構造上の安定性を保つためのわずかな隙間が設けられ、黒いカバーキャップで仕上げられています。ミニマルでありながら頑丈でバランスの取れたシェルのおかげで、最大12脚までスタッキング（積み重ね）が可能であり、使用しない時の収納も容易です。

Materials/Construction
Shell - Pressure moulded veneer (7 layers of inner veneer and 2 layers of outer veneer on front and back).
The veneer layers are glued with water-based urea-formaldehyde adhesive. The chairs are coated with a polyurethane lacquer, which protects the surface and helps reduce formaldehyde emissions.
The inner veneer is always beech, while the outer veneer is available in various natural wood types. Coloured finishes include coloured ash (with visible wood grain) and lacquered versions (no visible grain), both offered in a range of colours.
Base - 14 mm steel tubes in chromed or *powder-coated steel, with black support spacers and a black cover cap.
*The powder-coated steel base is available in various finishes. Only a small selection is shown in the listing, but additional colours are available at no extra cost. It can be paired with any shell colour. Please contact us if you would like to order one of the following base colour options: Warm Graphite, Brown Bronze, Silver Grey, Black, or White (White base only available with white shell).
