Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the Drop Chair remains one of his most iconic designs. Originally created alongside the Swan and Egg chairs for the hotel project, the chair was produced in limited numbers and was not introduced into regular production at the time. Today, the chair has been reintroduced, bringing Jacobsen’s original design into contemporary settings.
Featuring a distinctive tear-shaped shell, the chair combines sculptural form with comfort. Its gently curved backrest wraps around the body, creating an inviting and supportive seat. The elegant silhouette is complemented by slender, splayed legs, giving the chair a light and refined appearance. The shell is made from ABS plastic with internal nylon reinforcement for added durability. The chair is padded with cold-cured foam and finished in textile or leather upholstery. The 14 mm steel tube base is available in chromed or powder-coated steel, with rubber glides mounted underneath for extra stability.
High-quality craftsmanship and balanced proportions give the chair a minimal and elegant appearance from every angle, bringing character to both residential and public spaces. The chair is also available in a non-upholstered version.
