デザイナー兼エンジニアのジャン・プルーヴェは、プレハブ住宅のプロトタイプである「Masion Tropicale」プロジェクトのために 1950 年頃に EM テーブル (Entretoise Metalliqué、金属支柱) を開発しました。必要に応じて美学を追求し、このテーブルの細部に至るまでその構造が決まります。斜めの脚はクロスバーで接続されており、通常はエンジニアリング構造でのみ見られる方法で構造力と応力の流れを物理的に示しています。厚さ 34 mm のオーク無垢材またはウォールナット無垢材のテーブルトップとスチール製のベースで作られた EM テーブルは、すぐにそれとわかるプルーヴェのデザインで、何世代にもわたって長持ちします。堅牢な構造により、このテーブルは多目的に使用でき、スタジオの作業デスクからダイニングテーブルまであらゆる用途に使用できます。
EM テーブルは、ご要望に応じて HPL (高圧ラミネート) テーブルトップを使用することもできます。

Origin of wood - Oak (Quercus robur) from Western Europe and Poland, American walnut (Juglans nigra) from the USA.
