Designed by Danish cabinetmaker Poul Kjaerholm in 1956, the PK61 table reflects his precise and architectural approach to furniture. As part of the PK series, developed throughout the 1950s and 60s, the tables highlight his exploration of material contrast, proportion and structure.
Featuring a brushed spring steel base and a square tabletop available in slate, marble, granite or glass, the PK61 table presents clean geometry and a balance of natural and industrial materials. For the marble version, the tabletop is available in either a honed finish, offering a soft matte surface, or a rolled finish, which adds subtle texture to the stone. The 3 cm thick tabletop ensures stability and durability, and highlights high-quality craftsmanship. The tabletop is supported by four slender frame bars, each positioned along an edge, emphasising the table’s open and lightweight appearance.
With its low profile and square tabletop, the PK61 fits seamlessly into living rooms, lounge areas and other relaxed spaces without disrupting the room’s visual flow. The table is available in two sizes: PK61 (80 x 80 cm) and PK61A (120 x 120 cm), and suits a range of interiors from compact living spaces to more generous, open-plan rooms. Covered by Fritz Hansen’s 20-year warranty as part of the Poul Kjærholm collection, the PK61 Table is designed to last and be appreciated across generations.
